What's Been Going on At Unity Home?
COVID-19 made it challenging for Unity Home to provide much needed services to victims of domestic violence! Unfortunately, being forced to be home with no way to get out from under the abuse, was cause for even more struggle for victims of domestic violence and their children. Unity Home made a way when there seemed to be NO way! We integrated a Quarantine Program allowing us to continue to offer a safe haven to accept new clients. This program was a success and continues to keep existing clients & staff SAFE, while offering new client opportunity for a life free from the fear of abuse! Please consider partnering with Unity Home financially or be a volunteer! Please call us today 760-366-9663
Safety Tip
If someone comes into your business asking when 'so and so' will be in for shift, do not give them information. This could be an abuser attempting to locate a victim to cause harm. Instead, say you are not sure and notify the co-worker that someone came in looking for them. You could save your co-workers life!
Teen Dating Violence Awareness
Unity Home was able to hold our Annual February Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month Fundraiser! This year, Unity Home went online; starting a Virtual Fundraiser on February 22nd and ending with a raffle held at Unity Home Thrift's new location on February 27th. Thanks to the wonderful support of the community, Unity Home was able to raise additional funding to support victims of domestic violence and their children while bringing much needed awareness to the many teens that are struggling and lose their lives due to dating violence! A HUGE shout out to our community support, funders, and donors for the event! Each year, this event expands beyond expectations and Unity Home is so grateful; we cannot wait for next year!

Children/Teen Corner
Unity Home has a Child and Teen Advocate, dedicated to helping our child clients that have come from abusive environments to grow and overcome the challenges that they face by providing productive, positive, and healthy coping skills. The Child and Teen Program is focused on making a difference in children’s lives and to shape little minds; to be able to help children move forward and become healthy thinkers, building their self-esteem, to allow them to live their life free from the fear of abuse. We strive to make a positive impact on their lives. The curriculum is designed to help children to develop emotional literacy, self-management, and social competence. The goal is for the child to develop a healthy sense of self, positive peer relationships, and a respectful understanding to the world around them. To help them to find and hold onto joy throughout their lives in a healthy way. During the trying times of COVID-19, Unity Home was able to provide our Child and Teen program with a desktop computer for distance learning, affording our youth additional opportunities. Without much needed funding this could not be done.
